The Teak News Delivery Service System supports all of the basic functions of draws, returns and routes, but here is a list of some of the other features included in the system:
  • Daily dispatch process that allows last minute changes by publication, by region, by route, etc.
  • Last minute check that all locations for which there are draws that day are actually on someone’s route.
  • Bundle counts per publication so that Count Sheets show bundles plus loose.
  • Tracking for Excess Undelivered - same day returns - separate from normal returns.
  • The ability to reschedule a publication to a different day if it is not received on time.
  • The ability to cancel a draw when a publication is not received on time so that it does not appear in any of the handheld device delivery lists or Route Delivery Sheets.
  • Tracking for Queued Publications - publications where you are not sure when you will receive them so that they can be added into the handheld device delivery lists or Route Delivery Sheets.
  • Support for customer locations that are serviced on two different routes on the same day (for example, AM/PM deliveries).
  • Support for last minute driver substitutions so that the proper driver gets the correct route data when he/she “docks” their handheld device.
  • Screens that give previews of future draws to manage draw requests.
  • Bar code returns scanning where returns route drivers separate returns picked up with a bar-coded separator sheet and then, when getting back to base, scan the separator sheet and the publication-date-specific barcodes on the returned publications to accurately and quickly record returns.
  • Support for Pay in Advance customers.
  • The ability to set a Credit Limit for each customer and be notified when a customer exceeds the limit set.
  • The ability to set a Credit Hold for a customer that has exceeded the credit limit set for that customer - holding deliveries until the account is current.
  • Automated “Draw Optimization” or “Order Regulation” based on “rules” defined by you.
  • Extensive demographic analysis tool that supports merchandising efforts, including “control group” effectiveness measurement.
  • Support for variations in delivery schedules (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.).
  • Customer-specific holiday schedules can be set so that draws are not calculated for locations that are closed for a holiday.
  • Customer-specific and publication-specific seasonality so that schedules and draws can be set differently for different times of the year.
  • Temporary date-specific draw count changes (for special occasions).
  • Defined vacation periods and temporary indefinite “holds”.
  • “Last Minute” route structuring. Draws are maintained on a customer-by-customer basis and sorted into specific routes based on draws that day (system controls for missed or duplicate locations).
  • Mapping of publisher customer codes so that various publisher reports can be made using each publisher’s own customer codes.
  • Publisher-specific accounting for late returns: same day current week; actual day current week; actual day restated week.
  • Multi-period closing: both customer-specific and publisher-specific reporting is supported simultaneously.
  • Optional aggregated billing for multi-location customers or location-specific billing on a case-by-case basis.
